Anyone have a recipe for infusing bourbon? I have a buddy who says he uses makers mark and puts it all in a iced tea pot
Anyone else doing this?

I have some old friends who use an IV bag to infuse or maybe they used it to injest their Bourbon.... :-D :-\

IV bag, or an enema bag? :-D
I have never heard of infusing honey and Bourbon. Sounds fun.

Don't have a recipe but all our tastes are different. So mix a batch at equal portions. Adjust as you rebatch.
Maker's Mark is will give you a better product than the honey JD (which is quite good). The Wild Turkey version is sadly unimpressive. Basil Hayden or Bookers would also make a Great drink.

I just used Wild Turkey to clean out my extractor. ;)

No. Honey shine is the Best at Killing everything including your sense of what you should not be doing. ;) :-D
P.S. I have the recipe for that one.

Honey infused Bourbon sounds a lot like Southern Comfort.
Which makes me think that maybe we should dig Janace Joplin up and get her recipe for infusing honey into Bourbon.
As these vids shows Southern Comfort was Janis's favorite beverage.
Janis Joplin - Me and Bobby McG (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OTHRg_iSWzM#)
JANIS JOPLIN Mercedes Benz (1970) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ORGaACYbAk0#)
Enjoy.

Stonewalls Honey Shine
One quart of honey per 1 1/2 gallons of water. One 4 oz Package of Turbo yeast per 10 gallons of mash. Ferments for 7 to 14 days and then distill.
How did this get here? ;) :cheer: :cindi: :jerry:

Huumm, sounds more like brandyed honey or honey brandy from where I am standing. (grin)
Where's the 51% yellay' corn, the rye, and the malted barley? Not to mention you left out the new charred white oak barrel needed to make charred a.k.a. "chartered" Bourbon whiskey.
Mix 16lb of granulated sugar with each gallon of 100 proof Bourbon, feed it to your strongest hives in hive top feeders. Then allow your worker bees to infuse honey into y'alls' Bourbon. Don't the good book say, "...the worker is worthy of her reward?" Trouble is I doubt the worker bees would get much work done, but they would bee doing a lot more singing, fighting, philosophising, and sleeping around! lol
If your real serious about infusing honey into your corn whiskey, do it like this. Get or make yourself a hardwood muddler. Use your favorite mint julep recipe or any cocktail recipe for that matter that calls for both Bourbon and simple syrup. Substitute your favorite honey for the simple syrup. Salute!!!
