Title: My first crop
Post by: Wombat2 on December 16, 2013, 11:51:32 pm
After two months from nucleus hive we collected 12 Kg from a half super plus a lid full of burr comb full of honey.  Will have to get some better equipment to get more efficient at extraction.

Looks like hard work but fun!!! Well done.
I had my first crop for this season last weekend and I managed to pull  about 40L from 2 hives that are going strong.

Keep your eyes peeled. I bought a 2 frame extractor recently for $60. Mum & Dad put up a sign at their stall at the local farmers' markets. From one retiree, I got the extractor and two smokers (just a week after I bought a new one!) for $20 & $30 each.

I also got an uncapping knife for nothing.
