Last Three Removals---July 17, 2009
« on: July 17, 2009, 10:25:25 pm »
First one is in a wall void on the third floor of an apartment bldg, bees were extremely dark in color for this area.

Next is a hive in a wall void and in the roof of a dormer. This was a very messy removal, excess honey in roof of dormer.

Last one was a very small colony in a wall section below a window.

All three colonies are very gentle, got the queen on the first and third. Vacuumed her in the inner box on the first one.

Nice pics, thanks for sharing.

Zip Wall Multi Pack http://www.americover.com/multi_pack_3_pack_775_prd1.htm

I paid $293.32 with shipping

Same camera, believe Grandma was right, needed to clean the lens, but it also was making some weird noises, maybe it got its second wind!

Glad y'all enjoyed the pics.

Hey Bro...I've see these containment type devices like you have. How easy it this to use? I've seen the videos but I am wondering about the ease of use with the types of jobs we do. Is it costly? Are you more worried about dust containment or bee containment?

Thanks for the photos JP.

First off Scott, hello stranger! Where the heck have you been? I know, Mr. family man and all the running you do, sooner or later you'd pop up! Was thinking about you yesterday and calling you.

The zip multi pack, first time I used it yesterday, pretty easy to set up and it contained every last bee.

It made the job a cinch, where normally you'd have bees all over the windows, they were right against the plastic.

Hey beee farmer, every now and again someone asks me to remove bees in Jackson, but that's three hrs from me. What is your traveling area? Would you like me to direct some of those referrals your way?

JP I have looked at a lot of your pics and really enjoy them. I have noticed that I never see any hive beetles in the pics. Do you ever find them in the comb? I learned the hard way on my last cutout. I filled two hives with bees, brood and honey. I lost both hives very soon to the hive beetles. Now I am putting Hood Traps in every hive. I hope it is cheap insurance. Any other suggestions are welcome. Thank you for the great pics.
But for the grace of God it would be you instead of me.

Coge, every hive I have ever been in here has at least a few shbs, they're even in swarms I have shook!

I don't have an issue with them unless the hives get weak somehow.
