Title: Will the bees build comb as they grow
Post by: tom on April 21, 2006, 01:31:15 am
Hi guy's i am wondering if bees will draw comb as they fill the brood chamber. I stoped feeding a couple of days ago because they were filling the brood chamber up with syrup and pollen and my queens have little room to lay eggs i want to know how should i go about getting them to draw out the rest of the foundation without taking heat from the brood. I read in books that i should move the undrawn foundation close to the brood but like Mr. Finsky said i do not want to bother the brood and hurt them. And has any body has any cordovans mixed with carniolan and if so how do they look.

When they need it, they will draw it.  Until they need it they won't draw it.  Don't try to get them to do anything.  Just make sure they don't starve, they don't swarm and they have room and let them take care of it.
