This is the skinny in a nut shell.
This good old boy from Texas' "podna" picked up the cover of the enclosure where this colony was located about two weeks prior to our visit and at that instant the colony was doomed.
Kinda like a colony in a tree that has fallen.
Comb sections mashed and honey everywhere, one big mess and a perfect set up for SHB to wreak their merciless havoc.
The bees were queenless and gentle.
The gnats were bountiful, relentless and straight from the pits of hell! :evil:
Yep, for a good part of the removal, the customer watched "Gun Smoke". :-D
Watching Emil do "the gnat dance" and play Hacky sack with a garbage bag is definitely worth the price of admission on this one folks! 8-)

Good thing you got there when you did! I bet they would have absconded in another day leaving the SHB to do their worst...that would've been a total mess. Good job!
Were those buffalo gnats (A.K.A. black flies)? Those things tear me up, I'm feelin' for ya.

So which is worse, gnat bite or a bee sting? That was cool design of comb on that plywood. Did ya'll try to kill the SHB maggots in the trailer? I think about a gallon of bleach may have helped. On that tree hive, I wonder how large the hive was, how hollow the tree is?

The guy is going to bleach the bottom of the compartment.
Not sure how large the cavity is in that willow tree.
Gnat bites are far worst than bee stings, far worse!

I usually watch these videos and marvel at how comfortably JP and crew work their bees without much protective clothing and without slapping or jumping or overreacting...so, for some strange reason, I sort of enjoyed watching JP and Emil dance and curse the gnats. Sorry guys. :)

Ok Gnat worse then bee's what about chigger's ? The gnat's around here itch allot do your's.

Actually gnats don't bite, "no-see-um's" do... they are smaller than a gnat Just ask anyone who lives on a beach in the pandhandle.

I call chiggers red bugs and they are worse than gnats. You never feel them bite but feel them under your skin two to three days afterwards.
You want to scratch your skin until its raw with those dang red bugs!
The gnat bites hurt like all heck but after that there really aren't any lingering effects.

Chiggers can be fun if they bite you in the "right" space. :-D Just need a little help scratching them......... ;)

I had tennis elbow once. It would flare up, because I used a hammer a lot and played tennis. One day I was moving some wood and a wasp stung me on my elbow and it quit hurting. Those jokers aren't all bad. They claim that bee stings can cure lots of ailments. To think many people will just kill them no matter where they are.

Yes, bee sting therapy (apitherapy) I am a believer of, big time. Do a search on this site, many discussions we have had on the subject.
BTW, please update your profile with your location. That always helps us to get to know new members better.
