Peggy's right ankle
« on: April 01, 2013, 08:40:38 pm »
Thought y'all might like to see what Peggy has been dealing with. It's been a long road so far but she's a real trooper with it all. She's able to walk to some extent now with a cane or walker but still has some healing to do. She'll be a t Bud5 though...wouldn't miss that!

"In the first place, we should insist that if the immigrant who comes here in good faith becomes an American and assimilates himself to us, he shall be treated on an exact equality with everyone else, for it is an outrage to discriminate against any such man because of creed, or birthplace, or origin. But this is predicated upon the person's becoming in every facet an American, and nothing but an American...There can be no divided allegiance here. Any man who says he is an American, but something else also, isn't an American at all. We have room for but one flag, the American flag...We have room for but one language here, and that is the English language...And we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a loyalty to the American people."

Anything for my forum friends you know that Scott! :-D
Looks like the same thing Josh had done. Was that a tri something fracture? I can't remember the term for it.

I don't know Ken, I just know she crunched it pretty good! She was in surgery for 5.5 hrs so that's about a half hour per screw.

What Josh ahd was a Trimalleolar_fracture that involved both the bones and part of the ankle.
I wish her a speedy recovery.

OUCH!!!!  OUCH!!!  OUCH!!!!  OUCH!!!  OUCH!!!!  OUCH!!!  OUCH!!!!  OUCH!!!  OUCH!!!!  OUCH!!!

Man, that hurts me just looking at it.  Tough little lady you got there, Scott.  No need in getting in a hurry going through security at airports anymore....or hospitals or courthouses or...  :)

Glad to hear she's doing well with it, Scott.

American blood spilled to protect the freedom and peace of people all over the world.  320,000 USA casualties in WWI, 1,076,000 USA casualties in WWII, 128,000 USA casualties in the Korean War, 211,000 casualties in the Vietnam "conflict", 57,000 USA casualties in "War on Terror".  Benghazi, Libya, 13 USA casualties. I feel for you Peggy. My right ankle looks pretty much the same. Mine was from a skydiving, first and only, accident. I totally dislocated the angle socket and broke it in 3 places. Be careful not to bump those pins on the plate that are sticking out. They sure do hurt, even when you bump them ever so lightly. Be sure to keep up your stretching therapy.

Doc has issued her a "scanner pass" , a card that they can scan at security points not only describes the metal implants but shows an x-ray to boot!
