Title: Hello from West Central Florida
Post by: Ed M. on March 30, 2005, 09:00:38 am
Good Day All,

My name is Ed Mabesoone and I'm from Brooksville, Florida. I've been keeping bees for about 15 years. I retired from my full time job due to an illness in June of 2004 which now gives me more time for the bees. I had also given up my bees due to the illness but have recently started up again.

My stock consisted of Italians and Buckfast but I have now included some Russians.

Digital Photography is an interest and a hobby. My Granddaughter is my favorite subject and my bees are next in line. Some of my bee photos are displayed on my website.

Thanks to all for letting me be part of this forum.

Welcome!

It's good to have someone with so many varieties of bees. We've had people asking about the buckfast, so it'll be great for us to learn more about them.

Beth

Hi this is Ed M.'s wife, Elaine, Ed passed away almost a year ago on April 12th.  I have not removed him from this post because I do not know how.  He had joined a lot of posts and I don't think I yet know which ones.  Sorry for any inconvience.

Elaine:

I know I have responded previously, but again I am sorry for your loss, Ed wasn't a member very long, but he was active in posting while we had him with us.

I can delete Ed's posts if you wish or leave them in the forum his words, links and photos he posted may be valuable to new members. But I now see that you are receiving emails EACH TIME people reply to messages Ed replied to, this is because Ed opted to "receive notifications to message he was following" in his member profile.

I have just "TURNED OFF THAT FEATURE" which is triggering emails to you when someone replies to any posts Ed had followed. This will stop you from receiving further emails, so you won't be bothered in the future. I apologize for any grief which these emails may have caused.

Please let me know if you would like his posts to remain or be removed, I hope you choose to leave them for new members to learn from, but that decision is totally up to you.

I do though have a "dedication rule" that ALL MEMBER NAMES will be marked "UN-REUSABLE" as a tribute to a member who has passed on. His user-name will be preserved in memory of his being an active member in our forums. It is similar to retiring the number of an outstanding professional sports player.

If you receive any further emails, please let me know - but I am fairly sure you should not. I wish you well and please write me if there is anything else I can do to help in this matter.

Sincerely,

I don't mind at all keeping Ed's information, pictures, etc., Ed loved beekeeping and was very proud of his work with his bees and I know he enjoyed the posts that he belonged to.  I don't even mind getting the e-mails that some times come through, yes they are hard to read because of Ed being gone, but I know the people who send them do not know Ed has passed away.  Thank you very much for your concerns.

Elaine
