Frames and foundation?

Almost ready to purchase my equipment to get started. In that regard, there are so many choices of foundation and a few frame options.
Frames first. Wedge tops or groove tops?
Bottoms: Divided bottoms or groove bottoms?

Foundation. White or black for brood chamber? All wax? Wax coated plastic? Duraglit?

Supers. Again all same questions regarding material and style for honey supers?

Well it depends on the type of foundation you want to use.  

Groove tops and bottoms for plastic foundations. They just snap into place.

Wedge tops and divided bottoms for wax.

Foundation. White or black for brood chamber? All wax? Wax coated plastic? Duraglit?

Supers. Again all same questions regarding material and style for honey supers?

If you want plastic, go with wax coated. It gets better acceptance.  Some like black in the brood chamber, it's easier to see eggs.

I use wax. . *shrug*

As far as supers, it depends on how you want to get your honey out. If you don't have an extractor and want to do crush and strain or comb, then you should use wax foundation without wires.

If you're going to extract, then use whatever you think you will like best.

I prefer groove and I wax the foundation into the groove with a wax tube fastener.  Much easier than nailing.  But my favorite is to buy them solid top and bottom and cut a bevel on the top for foundationless.

I like grooved. They are easier to clean without breaking them.

I use all the same size boxes for everything, so I buy nothing but medium eight frame boxes.  I cut all my old ones down.
