Honey Bees In Wall In New Orleans-June 16 & 17 2010
« on: June 18, 2010, 12:38:08 pm »
In retrospect scaffolding would have been a Godsend on this one. I set up two hives from this one. Saw the queen early the first evening on the newer bottom sections, she ran up though and I got her on day two.

Its been miserably hot so I am hesitant to use the bee vac, besides most all colonies are now full up with honey, regurgitation is a real issue this time of year.

This heat is wearing me down, perhaps I'll lose a few pounds, probably not though as I am eating basically one time a day usually around 11:30 at night.

Very nice job JP, bet you are glad there was not any electrical wires in those old insulators on the corner of the house.

Stay hydrated on those hot cut outs, most people don't realize you are wearing a jacket and sometimes a hood. Don't over heat on us!!

I really like it when the bee climbs over the camera.

nice video, wood lath and plaster interior with no insulation - that house was probably built before ww1. good video - interesting place.

When I go to pick the hives up I'll ask the young lady who hired me the age of this house. I'm guessing around 80 years old or so.

Allen, when I was editing the footage I had to include that bit with the bee on the camera. I thought it was rather cool too.

Another good one JP...keep it up!

Scott
"In the first place, we should insist that if the immigrant who comes here in good faith becomes an American and assimilates himself to us, he shall be treated on an exact equality with everyone else, for it is an outrage to discriminate against any such man because of creed, or birthplace, or origin. But this is predicated upon the person's becoming in every facet an American, and nothing but an American...There can be no divided allegiance here. Any man who says he is an American, but something else also, isn't an American at all. We have room for but one flag, the American flag...We have room for but one language here, and that is the English language...And we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a loyalty to the American people."
