That hive we saw on ebay is now being offered for free. It is about twenty feet off the ground. Heres a link;

Okay.... Seriously though, the UltimateBBS software (that Beesource uses) looks awesomely slick, but DEAD in the Water - the delopers can't find the time to get it marketable. I think that Beesource might just have one of the few solid working copies out there and I'm glad it does, they have a nice site.

I complain about this PHPBB and I still can't get my server guy to upgrade it for me, although I promised to pay him the fee he quoted - ugh. So it's a little quirky, but it's home!!!!

I will say though, I'm also Beemaster at Beesource (which after being like the 2000th member - I was surprised the name was still available) but I rarely ever go there, check my post rate and you'll see, mainly because it feels very sterile: it's probably just me, but I don't feel comfortable there because I've read too many post/replies where I would have walked out of the BBS, slamming the door behind me.

But that poor beehive, can't imagine how they feel - oh wait... they feel like I do at Beesource - j/k seriously j/k.... It's a great forum and I definitely DON'T think of them as a competitor - that would be apples and oranges.

So Jerrymac, hope you enjoyed your membership here... It was fun having you and hope you enjoy your NEW home          and whatever other silly face I can make.

Hey "I just love messing with this guy!"  :?

OH please master bee man, I just wandered over there accidently. Some one held a gun to my head and made me do it. I ODed on my medication..... or was it I forgot to take mu medication.

I just lurk over there. And I know there are a few here that post over there, but I am not naming any names.

I Like this forum. The way it looks and the people here, and just everything about it. I really hope you never have to change it. AND by the way, this one loads faster than that other one, and I can get from page to page fast.

OK was that enough groveling?

I confess! I've posted there a few times! There are more organic beekeepers there (experienced ones), same reason I'm on the organic group at yahoo. I'm definitely going small cell come spring, and they have all the experience. But I swear I'll share with you guys!

I started one of the Yahoo Forums "Beekeeping 2" and then LITERALLY I forgot all about it. I came back looking for a beekeeping forum, saw I was the admin (remembered starting it then) and was amazed it had over 200 members - lol.

Then, I started seeing the porn posts, endless vulgar stuff that I wanted NOTHING to do with and even worse: had no ability as Admin to delete existing posts or block future porn spamming.

I gave up, let the scum of the Earth have that site.

I haven't mentioned in a long time how I found that I had Forum Software available to me. It's as good a time as any to repeat it.

_________________________

I belonged to a RV forum where I was Irrate about them adding embedded ads to their forum pages. They were already selling the user info to everyone and their brothers and they themselves are the largest RV Publishing/digital network in the world.

So I complained a lot and eventually got the big boot. I thought about making my own RVing forum and first searched download sites, but eventually found that in my website hosting panel it had a BBS create button, and sure enough it was this software and I made a RVing BBS which NO ONE ever visited. I even named it "The Least Used RVING FORUM on the NET"

I already had the Beekeeping Course Section and figured it would be a nice add-on to the site if people wanted to write me (or other beekeepers)  they could without getting lost in the junkmail of my email box.

That was Febuary 19th, 2004 (still less than a year) and the rest is history :) so, although I'll never go back to the RVing forum, I do have to thank them for igniting this forum - and I made myself the promise that commercial free will be a major part of the theme of the forum, I'd be hypocritical if it were any other way.

Ya I've been to bee sore .com too.
Remember my bee tree problem? I was looking for help there with it and got yelled at for posting pictures so people could see just what I was trying to explain.
Then some new member came along there and started a Peeing match about people asking questions and should buy at least two bee keeping books and search the site before asking questions.
That site inpressed on me that bee keepers were right there in the same pit as Lawyers, Polititons and telamarketers.
:D   :D  :D  I found this site and beecame a member way back when it kept crashing. Seemed like about every other time I came here it was crashed. Then I was doing some research on a beekeeping story I was writing and found John had fixed the site.
:)  :)  I have since became a member of a family of beekeepers who manage to find the time to answer questions even if they have been asked beefore. We can post pictures with out being yelled at about then slowing down the forum. In a nut shell I have found that not all beekeepers are like the ones at bee sore .com
  8) Thanks John for letting me be a part of the family

 :D Al

Their flag to Aprils breeze unfurled
Here once the embattled farmers stood
And fired the shot heard round the world

When I said you guys "need to surf more" - I was NOT talking about this

No Soup for you!

A funny side note:

I joined another forum (no it was NOT a beekeeping forum - lol) but one about  all paranormal activities and I posted a few of my epic theories and reposted a few good ones of mine from here about such topics.

I had one fellow write me back in a post saying "Beemaster, I think you are a brilliant writer, but I must be honest - I am intimidated by the sheer GIRTH of your posts. Each is a novelette. I may print them for my next cross country flight, cause I think you really have something there, amongst the thousands of words you write. P.S. You sure picked the right Avatar."

Am I really THAT bad???

I have decided to sub-divide some of my longer webpages into more bite-size pieces, there is nothing wrong with keeping things more categorized and focused. I know I'm a 2 dimensional thinker (there are only two types: 2D and 3D) and I suffer from spacial dysfunction, not being able to deliver ideas except in a left to right, up to down fashion. But hey, we all have our faults

I've been a beemaster lurker for a couple of years. I took a break about a year ago or so and when I came back found these nice forums that John has put together for us. Thanks!  :D

Admittedly, I read the beesource forums, simply for info, but I dont' post there because I find the groups responses to be sometimes aggravating.

My biggest problem is when I get into a subject it will take only one word that I write to set my brain off on some other idea. Some times some of my longer writtings go off into so many different directions I wonder if anybody can understand it. I don't know if I'm 3D or not, but everything in one of those mixed up masterpieces is all about one thing and how it all comes together in some way. Am I making sense?

You know the Butterfly affect? One flap of the wings on one side of the brain sets off a Texas twister on the other side.
