Title: I think this is larva

I found the workers leaving this on the landing board today.  It's a little large for larva no?  or is it just an illusion because I'm used to seeing larvae in the comb amongst others?   And is it normal for them to occasionally find something wrong with larva that appears to be normal to me? ( the black specks are just coffee grinds from the kitchen counter lol)

Could be drone larvae, it's that time of the year it sucks to be a male bee. It's too fat to be shb or wax moth larvae.

Seems I have at least one colony that I catch dumping larva every year.  Even if not drone larva they may just need the cell room for honey.  As long as they look healthy (glistening, and white) you'll be fine IMO.

It is common to kick drones out this time of year. :buttkick:

I had what I believe to be Greater Wax Moth Larvae and they are much larger than any of the bee larvae.  They sure did make a mess in the hive.

I have hives doing the same thing here in Central Arkansas.
They are removing Drone larva getting ready for winter.
