Help identifying plant
« on: July 19, 2011, 11:43:36 pm »
I found this vine coming up in two different places in my yard. I have never seen them before and dont know what it is. I cant say I like it because it was growing up the tree and all over the fence.

Looks the same to me. Thanks. I just dont like any vine due to Poison Ivy, Poison Oak, and Sumack.

+1 on the virginia creeper

When the leaves are small, often will have only 3 leaves, then it looks crazy like poison ivy, especially when there is poison ivy nearby.   But most have 5 and its no problem.

It won't hurt you.

Thanks everyone. It will be gone soon because I did not plant it and it does not work in with my ideas.

Sounds like a good move Shawn.  In the right conditions, a Virginia creeper can take over everything.  It might work if you wanted to cover a fence with green, but I can’t think of much else it is good for.
