Dead Hives
« on: February 20, 2010, 08:52:15 pm »
Well this winter is taking it's toll on my hives. I started with 23 and now I'm down to 10.  With so many dead hives it's a big mess.  After dumping out all the dead bees, and cleaning up everything, will a new package clean out the dead bees that are left with their heads stuck in the cells?

Bummer, Dave!

Hang in there. What lessons have you learned? Are other beeks near you experiencing the same?

They will clean out the mess in the combs if healthy bees in good numbers. Sounds like starvation.

Yes they will.

I feel your pain.  A even a few losses can be a pain in the ass to clean up.
