Hello! New Beek from Mississippi
« on: June 29, 2014, 04:38:38 pm »
Been lurking and reading for a while, finally decided to join. Just getting started in bees and actually bought my first nuc yesterday from a local guy with MN hygenic bees. Getting into bees as a hobby, look forward to learning more about bees here on the forum.
We also raise milk goats (Nigerian Dwarfs, Saanens, and Nubians), chickens, and we have a horse, some ducks and a few dogs. We had a pig but it looks better on the table than it did in the pen  :-D

have a good day

Welcome to the forum and the hobby!  Start putting your woodenware together, you will need it before you realize it...then there's the accidental swarm you happen upon.  Trust me, your colony numbers will increase. :)

Btw, want to borrow a compass?  :-D

American blood spilled to protect the freedom and peace of people all over the world.  320,000 USA casualties in WWI, 1,076,000 USA casualties in WWII, 128,000 USA casualties in the Korean War, 211,000 casualties in the Vietnam "conflict", 57,000 USA casualties in "War on Terror".  Benghazi, Libya, 13 USA casualties. These figures don't include 70,000 MIA.  But, the leaders of one political party of the United States of America continue to make the statement..."What difference does it make?".

Welcome to the forum.  There are lots of things you can learn here.  You may want to find and join your local bee club. Where in MS are you.  Good luck with your bees.

Hmm, looks like he found a compass. ;)

SF, just poking fun at ya.  Many, many people fail to add their location when they first sign up.  As Joe D mentioned, you might want to narrow down your location some either by region of state or nearest big city would do...it helps other folks understand your bee's environment so that they can answer questions more specifically.

Best wishes on your beekeeping adventure...
