It is Entergy's vision to:

Be a good steward of the land that we own and the wildlife and natural resources that are in our care.

Lead by example, demonstrating responsible environmental behavior everywhere we serve and supporting public policy that contributes to an ever-improving global and local environment.

People of Orphalese, be in your pleasures like the flowers and the bees.

you're being facetious right?

The people we bought the property from says there were law suits filed against this company yrs ago when they flew plains overhead to spray weed killer, that wound up killing lots of other things, like the neighboring wildlife. Don't think they had the environment's best interest at heart in those days and it was as far from responsible behavior as you can get.

Out of curiosity, what is the easement for?  Is there any chance whatever it is could be re-routed around your property?  If so, you might be able to file suit against them to remove the easement.

http://real-estate-law.freeadvice.com/zoning/easement.htm

An easement allows another person the right to use your land for a specific purpose. The most usual easements are those granted to public utility or telephone companies to run lines on or under your private property and to neighboring houses to use a common driveway to give access to their home.

Right, but a court can make them move their lines if it's easily possible, and lift the easement so that you have full control of your own land.

It would definately be difficult to get, but would get much easier if he agreed to bear the brunt of the costs to move the lines.

JP

hey man I feel your pain
the lovely folks at Entergy decided to trim my Live Oaks for me one day when I was at work.  they cut half the crown off 3 of my trees the trees were over 100 years old since then two have died totally. they offered me 100 dollars per tree. to say I laughed would be an understatement. they finally came out and planted 2 6' trees for me oh yeah that made up for the 60' trees with a crown of 80' each :-x since then I have moved but last time I rode by there the trees are up to 10' 90 or so years from now all the trees will be back to normal
