Connecticut NewBee!

Hi everyone!

My name is Michael and I have just moved to New England from Northern California. I have never kept bees but I plan on getting into them this year.

I am in Guilford, Connecticut currently until I find a home to purchase in the area.

I am interested in attaining a Nuc or package of naturally Varroa resistant bees. I would like to stay away from Russians.

I am leaning strongly towards cypress equipment. I have only been able to find rabbeted hives from Rossman.

I am really looking forward to participating in this forum.

Take care! :D

Hi Michael,

Welcome to New England.  I'm in Massachusetts.  There are some local suppliers in the area.  I think the largest supplier of northern bred nucs is probably Lagrants in Ware, MA.  They are really nice folks.  Their web site is http://www.lagrantshoneybees.com  You can't order online, but you should give them a call.  Super helpful people.
