Squash bug problem
« on: July 04, 2012, 10:29:06 am »
How do you get rid of squash bugs in your garden?  I am running out of Ideas.  Nearly every year that I have any type of squash- summer or winter, they attack it.  I grew zucchini, acorn, and pumpkins this year.     They weren't there at the start because I rotate my garden every year.  They were little later getting started because I picked them off by hand, found their eggs and got rid of them too.  I'm losing ground now though. The kids love the pumpkins and I love the summer squash so I'd really hate to give up growing these.  I'm just real tired of the pests.

Sevin dust 5%% heavy dusting of leaves and ground. This will control them. If you want to go organically. You can try Spinosad insecticide their have been good reports on this product as it doesn't affect beneficial insects.
