New here from North Louisiana
« on: November 18, 2005, 10:40:45 pm »
Thought I'd stop by and introduce myself. I'm T-Bone... I live in North Louisiana on a small farm with my wife and our critters, goats, chickens, turkeys, guineas, a donkey, 2 house dogs and 2 bloodhounds. I'm new to beekeeping and look forward to learning a lot from this forum.

Mr. T-Bone:

Welcome to the forum, I see you have post many time - glad to see you in the welcome forum! I must say that having any land and animals sounds wonderful to a guy living here on a 105X55 chunk of land with a pretty big house and a 37ft motor home -  lol. Luck I don't have more than two hives, I'd really have to start replanning my yard.

I hope you enjoy the forums, lots to do and many topics to keep you busy on a quiet night JUST catching up on older topics in the archives.

Best wishes this Spring and thanks for posting here!!!

I have a bloodhound, they are so neat...  how was Katrina on you??  A lot of bkprs around north/central florida had their hives blown around in hurricanes, very messy and lots of angry bees.

Beemaster -I liked your giraffe avatar the best  :D

Summer:

Here is the file location if you want to use the giraffe avatar - I think it's pretty cool too - I found it at another forum (a site where they really have some interesting - albeit mature avatars too) but that one is cute: http://www.beemaster.com/garaffe.gif - again, you are welcome to use it if you choose. :) Mind the spelling of the file name - you might want to cut and paste it to your profile :)

I'm trying this photo of me I took a few years ago, I used a feature of Paintshop Pro called hotwaxing to give it a water color painted look. It really does look like me and the background is the old Boiler Plant I worked in a few years back which has since been decommissioned from the service - I work for the Navy, and they just can't close anything, they need to decommission it - I think it costs less to maintain a decommissioned building (on paper) than a closed on - lol.

We raise bloodhounds here, they are definately not for everyone... Katrina didn't bother us that much, but Rita ripped through us as a tropical storm, we didn't get any damage but folks around us did.
