Turtle Doves nesting
« on: June 03, 2010, 12:00:45 pm »
In a small tree in the front yard I had a pair of Turtle Doves nesting. Here are some photos of them sitting on the nest and the results after several weeks. This tree is probably the most protected tree in the country. I placed traps below it because of the high cat population in this town. The kids were banned from this section of yard and no one was alowed to touch the tree. The babies are almost ready to leave and I believe there will be one more set of eggs laid this year.

So sweet and just love how you took good care of the tree. Share some photos of the babies if possible

The last two photos are of the babies, kind of late in the ababy stage. I noticed today they were sitting out on the branch as if they were getting ready to fly. Neither babies or parents fly away when I walk by the tree everyday to go to work. Ill try to get some more photos tomorrow.

Here are a couple more photos of the birds. They left the nest and are now starting to sit on the branches thoughout the tree.
