Hello all. I'm on the east side of Cleveland. It seems there's some sort of conspiracy against us on this side, there are six "local" beekeeping clubs I can find, but they're all at least 30 minutes away. Anyway, I was looking at buying packages from a local place. They start shipping packages in mid April. I'm worried that this might be too early for packages around here. Anyone have any experience/input in this matter? Thanks.

April is fine to set a package, just be sure to feed them inside.Check this link:

If you are talking about Cleveland, Ohio I am about 1.5 hrs. south of you. I have received packages as early as 4/10 and had no problems. Just install and feed even if it is somewhat cool out. It would be a definite plus if you have drawn foundation to put them on but if not install anyhow just make sure you feed.
I think you really enjoy the site nice to have you aboard.

Welcome JayC.
Mid-April??? One guy over here has them coming March 28th.
I think they will do fine, but make you sure you have a feeder ready as there is always a cold snap and days they will not be flying.
