What Bee Books are Essential for the Library?
« on: June 27, 2005, 04:31:01 pm »
OK, I am hooked on this hobby so now I am back-tracking and trying to learn the history of beekeeping.

What are the essential, "classic" books to add to my library? I tend toward not only how-to books but also natural history, etc. What should I put on my "must read" list?

You may already have it, and if not, I'm sure you've heard of it...Beekeeping for Dummies.  Not a "classic" but from what I've been reading so far, it's pretty good.

The book that I am reading now, The Hive and the Honey Bee, wich was written by L.L. Langstroth, has given me more info than any other book I have read, and thats alot of bee books! It has ben revised on average of about every 5 times it is reprinted so it has ben revised like 6 times now. It is like 4-5 inches thick so it is a great winter book. It has info on everything and usally it boars me to re-read info I already know but it just has so much extra info in it it captivates you, lol. I suggest it of all the books I have read. It is classic and has all the new age info you need. :D
