Post by: brandon on August 28, 2010, 02:28:08 am

I do not want skype to start automatically when i start my computer. I want it to start when I click on 'skype' icon. I tried hard to find the option to select in order to stop skype starting automatically. Can anyone help me please? Thanks and regards

I'm assuming you are running some version of Windows?
click on start button, run
type in MSCONFIG
a window opens
on top, click the STARTUP tab
in the list, uncheck the skype item
click ok and restart the computer
when it comes back up into windows
you get message window saying changes were made,
check the box saying not to display this message again and close
now skype won't run on windows start.

You don't have to mess with your msconfig. Just open Skype go to the TOOLS tab and select OPTIONS and right there on the first page under general settings uncheck Start Skype when I start Windows.

once you are logged in, locate on how you can change to settings for the preference. it's got to be there. just uncheck the option that says automatically start when i start windows.
