keeping queens
« on: April 09, 2010, 10:00:49 am »
What is the best method for keeping queens alive for maybe a week or two?  Is it even possible?

I have 8 queens on order - they are scheduled to ship the first week of May.  The brood frames that I had planned to pick up and make nucs from are now delayed on apples in Washington for perhaps a week, maybe two.

If I am not able to reschedule the shipment of the queens, they will arrive 1 to 2 weeks before I am able to make up the nucs that they are to go into.  What is the best way to keep the queens alive until the brood arrives?

Thanks

Mike

.
You should phone and tell that queen seller move your order 2 weeks later.

Is it not possible to keep queen outside of hive one week. It is a big risk that queens are or some of them are in bad condition or even die.
