Took off the top of a hive and found this one and another smaller wax moth larva on the inner cover. The smaller one crawled over to the edge and leaped to its death (with a little help after it hit the ground :)). Managed to get a few shots of this one before I did away with it. Have noticed more larva this year, not to the point of taking over a hive, but one or two in a crack or crevice or corner somewhere. Even had one or two in the cracks between my top bars in my TBH's. Hives were too strong to allow them down into the hive.
Arvin
Notice the dead bee antenna and body segment.
The bees were dead as a result of a spider that was also living on the inner cover.
