Title: anti virus

BY FAR the best free anti-virus is AVG Anti-Virus Free Edition version 8.0.173 (as of Sept. 28, 2008)
And for ad blocking its the free Lavasoft Ad-Aware 2008 version 7.1.0.11 (Watch out for similarly spelled trash)

Yes watch out you don't download a program that is close to what you think but is corrupt, have a friend or perhaps one of the mods here that knows, help you locate a valid, authentic program. Beware of imitators!

Post by: TwT on September 30, 2008, 08:01:54 pm: I used Avast for a few years and it worked fine, but since I bought one called Kaspersky Internet Suit, I think its the best thing since slice bread, very nice!!!! think I will keep this one, done had it for about 2 years now and bought a 3 year service. not one problem yet!!!!

Edited to clarify- my post started with "symantec!" and may have been misconstrued as an endorsement. Let me be perfectly clear, symantic=bad

Got this site from a very reputable forum I'm in so know it is good.
Never had any trouble from Zone Alarm free so am going to download it in the morning and try it.

Other than that I would recommend it. Can't complain to much, after all it is free.
