looks interesting, do you have plans for this unit, or did you work from memory?  Glad it works well!

Looks GREAT!!!  Good job!  You gotta love good-ole Hillbilly ingenuity. (Though in my case its more outta necessity than inspiration) Makes me proud to have been born and raised in the Ozarks!

Thanks for sharing Bee-Bop!  Those are the best, most detailed photos of a home built model I have seen.  I have most of those parts sitting around my shop, but haven't got the project off the ground yet.  I would like to try to build something like that as a winter bee project, as I probably won't need it this summer, but if I can keep my hives alive through the winter, I hope to have a good harvest next summer.  Any additional details or photos would be much appreciated.

Just built a Whizbang chicken plucker. After looking at your extractor I may need another blue drum. Congratulations.

Yes it is a treadmill motor, had to add a small fan to cool electronic controls in metal box.

Got idea from the bicycle design, plus I used/revised plans from the " Yankee Beekeeper's Twenty Frame Extractor " available on the net.

Hardest thing was measureing,remeasureing, then getting it to fit.

Balancing the cage was about impossible, but did get it perty close

Any chance you would post a few more photos of your cage and bearing set-up?  Excellent work. Thanks!

Here is a picture of the basket;
 The shaft, 5/8 in dia. goes thru about 3 1/2 in and is somewhat pointed on the end, this is inserted into the bottom self alinging bearing mounted on a cross bar below the basket.

I turned the barrell upside down and used the large hole as the drain.

Attached to stand; You can see the honey gate.

For any one building a extracter let me know, I'll try to help.
