Hi everybody, were in spring at the moment with temps warming up. I have a hive that I do not want to swarm (I don't want any to swarm but the one particularly). The hive is 8 frame boxes two boxes high. All frames are drawn, there is lots of brood, few stores with room to fill. Would you add a third deep just to be on the safe side?

Yes, between the two.

Think about just how fast they can fill a super when a honey flow is booming big time.   4 weeks is a long time to fill a hive in the spring.

I personally would add the box on top then pull 2 frames of capped brood into the middle of it and drop the empty frames down to the outside positions.
