46 tomato plants...
« on: March 20, 2009, 08:58:40 pm »
 :-D
That's right, I have 46 BIG Beefsteak tomato plants germinated an transplanted into flats.
46.   :-D

And there's probably another 50 I need to move tomorrow.

And I have 20 bell pepper plants flatted.
Along with 22 yellow and 20 zucchini.
Ooo and at least 40 okra.

I am SOOOOO ready for Spring!   :-D

My bees are gonna love me!

Geez, you don't do anything in a small way, huh?

From experience, I don't set out the tomato plants until mid April around here. But the spinach, garlic, broccoli, peas, lettuce and cabbage are doing well in the garden now. I'm all over the locovore thing, and there is a new Farmer's Market starting this year less than 2 miles where I live in the boonies. Victory garden time!

I have them all indoors.
They'll be BIG and healthy when I transplant them.
And I'll give some away too.

Ooh..I am so jealous ;) When did you start them? I was planning on starting mine tomorrow, but I think I may have waited too long.
Figured I could move em outside in mid May. Hopefully.

It is not too late for planting inside.
I planted about 200 last week and they are coming up, and I am down here in Georgia.
I will weight till after Easter week to put them in the ground.
There in Kentucky you have time a plenty. :)doak

My wife dropped them on a paper towel on a plate about 2 weeks ago.
When I could see their first root, I dropped them in to flats.
I have 18 that have leaves now.

I have eggplants, cucumbers and squash all waiting on me too.
I'll do them all tonight.
They'll all be ready by Good Friday to go in the garden.   :-D

I'll have that number in tomato plants, but will be a mix in variety. I normally buy plants. I'm just glad moles did not eat all my strawberry plants this year.... :)

I want to put in a small greenhouse one year. But have been wanting that for years. I normally kill most seed started plants. But at least I could look professional doing it...

I will have no lawn.  :-D
Just garden. Less grass to cut.  :-D
