Title: Swarm On Key Lime
Post by: JP on March 18, 2008, 11:21:13 pm
You know that nosanov smells like lemongrass or citrus for that matter, a citrus like odor the bees emit from their tight little butts. Lots of swarms like to land on citrus trees especially lemon, and limes, some orange trees. Here's one on a key lime. I had a little trouble getting them to orient to my trusty old tupperware box cause that tree must have been momma to 'em. I came back later with the real deal and they were glad to cape walk in. Gotta love swarm calls! You can view the pics here: http://picasaweb.google.com/pyxicephalus/March182008

Ps: My friend Bailey's trees grow more bees than citrus, judging by the amount of swarms that hang on 'em.

I put burlap and cardboard in my smoker, but haven't blessed any of the fuel just yet. You wanna do the blessing Cindi?

JP, nope, no blessing from me, just some good wishes for the holy smoker, hee, hee.  I am going to try to use the shelf fungi that I have been drying from harvesting in the smoker with the burlap to initially get it going.  We have lots of shelf and timber fungi around here, hee, hee.  Best of a great and beautiful day, Cindi
