Well, Hello there from Lynchburg.  How many colonies do you have?
Best wishes on a successful 08 season!

Welcome!
Have you checked out a local bee club yet? Get involved! Find some mentors. Hang out with other beeks who share your addiction.

Hi Jeff  :)

I'm Barbra (BEH) I'm in Norfolk.  I'm a newbee too.  No hives yet, just ordered my 'woodenware'.
I've been wanting to have bees for  a g e s , now I'm finally doing it and I cant wait for everything to get here...  the equipment, ... my bees, ... SPRING!!!!!

The people in this forum have all been so welcoming and generous with their knowledge, they are a real TREASURE.  Books are important but the advice and opinions of all these experienced beekeepers fills in all the gaps nicely.   I think you will like it here alot, I know I do!   :-D

Welcome, Barbra

I have one active hive and one waiting in the wings to receive a package plus a queen in April. I live right close to Randydrivesabus. We can't seem to catch a break weatherwise. If the temp rises above 50, it's either raining or windy as heck. I'm anxious to crack open the hive and do a thorough inspection. I get a really nice buzzzz response when I tap on the hive. So, I'm hoping they are doing ok.
