I'm a hobby beekeeper from Texas with just a couple of years of experience. We have quite a few hives, many of which came from successful cutouts. I love beekeeping and doing removals. I think our biggest progress in terms of being good beekeepers so far has been our move from using smoke to using a gentle mixture of sugar water with essentials oils. Makes much happier bees during inspections and removals. Today is our first cutout for 2014. Will be heading under a small RV trailer to get them out of the electrical panel. The challenge will be working with our faces underneath where the bees need to be removed. May have to tear up the floor instead. It's cooler outside than we had hoped, so more bees will be hanging out in the colony. Lot of ways this one could go wrong (as with most cutouts!), but we think we are ready. Wish us luck!!!

Welcome to beemaster Cindy, do you folks have a vacuum system in case it's needed?

Welcome to the forum, Cindy. Good luck to you and your cut out.

We do use a bee vac. However, the RV owner had decided to seal the bees' main entrance, so they had absconded out the back. Gone! Not a bad dry run, though, since we were forced to gather all of our removal tools and items for the first time this year. We will be ready for the next one.
