In May I will be going to northern Iraq to work with Kurdish beekeepers. I am trying to get some idea about the types of hives they use. Thus far I can only find that they use sticks and skins, not much wood as wood is largely unavailable in the region.
I know it is a very long shot, but does anyone here know anything at all about beekeeping in that region? Southern Armenia, southeast Turkey, northern Syria are all close by and experience or knowledge of beekeeping in that area would be helpful.
Please post here or send me a PM and I will contact you.
