Don, is the Fluke imager easy to use? Is it just point and view or you point and have to make some adjustments?
Also, you said you haven't tried it on chimneys with bees behind it. Have you tried it through stucco? Or bees in a tree?

Yes, it is easy to use. just point, focus and shoot. It's got a digital viewing screen so all you have to do is look through it till find them. You don't even have to take a picture if you don't want too.
VERY IMPORTANT: It's all about contrasting temperatures, it works best when the outside air temperature is below 75 degrees.
It works fine through modern stucco laid over lathe, I haven't tried it on the old thick stucco.
I've got a couple of bee trees close, I'll try it out on this week and let you know.
