Hi from downunder. I had better admit upfront that I am more a computer programmer than a beekeeper - I hope you won't hold that against me!  :)

I have no bees   :embarassed:  My husband (an ex-beekeeper) and I moved off our little farm about 7 years ago before I got interested in beekeeping. We now live a nomadic life in a caravan travelling around Australia - so no bees at the moment. About 6 years ago, a beekeeper in Tasmania asked me to use my programming skills to build him some beekeeping software. That was my first real introduction to beekeeping. Since then my interest has continued to grow. If we ever get the chance to own another block of land, my hubby and I would love to have a couple of hives. In the meantime, I will keep learning!

Welcome, Jeanette, I am a programmer too, but I have my priorities right, I will not hesitate to rush home during the day if my wife calls me about a swarm! We only have four hives so far but already the bees seem to be running my schedule.

Sounds like you might be setup to be a migratory beekeeper?

cheers

Welcome to the forum!

I can relate to background in computers. However my passion is bees and being a good steward of our farm. I really enjoy IT, but I'm a country boy at heart.

Enjoy your time on this forum there a lot of good people with a great deal of experience.
