Dead bees on SBB
«

This is my first year of beekeeping. I am a little concern about 15 or so dead bees on the SBB of my strong hive. I saw them this morning. I live in the south and we have had our first bit of cold weather. Low last night was 43.
I havn't had much problems with varroa or anything else for that matter. Maybe a few SHBs that I have seen and killed in the the last couple of months. Not much else.
Is this normal?
Thanks

The old field bees are dying off. It's normal. It has nothing to do with a SBB. There are bees dying all the time, but the weather finally gets cold enough that the house bees can't keep them hauled out all the time.
