Title: clickable links

Michael Bush's Website (http://bushfarms.com/bees.htm)

Annette, to post a website, you click the second icon from the left in the icon row.  That will give you the url tags (in brackets, [ url][ /url], but without the spaces, they wouldn't show if I didn't do that).

To make the words clickable, highlight them, click that icon, change the first closing bracket to a '=' equals sign, paste your URL and put the closing bracket there.  I find it odd that you have to do all that, most forums convert without having to do all that, but it's the only way I have found to be able to do it.

To create the highlighted link to Michael's website above, I followed my procedure and got code that looks like this (spaces are inserted at the beginning and the end to make the whole thing viewable):

[ url=http://bushfarms.com/bees.htm]Michael Bush's Website[/url ]

Click on the hyperlink icon and a URL in brackets followed by a /URL in brackets will show. Place your cursor in between the two center or seperating brackets and either paste or type your site URL there.

or...go to the site you want to reference, copy address from address bar, paste to post, done,  :-).  if the address you want is in your favorites, right click, go to properties, copy address, paste to post, done!

this is great for people like me, who can't remember anything and don't want to type.  hyperlinks, in my opinion, are only really fun when you want to label the address and make your label a clickable link.

http://www.bushfarms.com (http://www.bushfarms.com)

OK I tried this, now I have to post it to see if it works.

Yes, it works, so thanks for the help!!!!

Annette
Now that you've got that down, can you see what's going on with this:

[ url=http://bushfarms.com/bees.htm]Michael Bush's Website[/url ]

If you post your URL that way, you'll get this named clickable link (after removing the space after the first bracket and the last bracket):  Michael Bush's Website (http://bushfarms.com/bees.htm)

Haven't you noticed that some people insert links with text that point to a URL instead of the clickable words being the URL?  Here's the difference between the syntax:

[ url=http://bushfarms.com/bees.htm]Michael Bush's Website[/url ] gives you Michael Bush's Website (http://bushfarms.com/bees.htm)

[ url]http://bushfarms.com/bees.htm[/url ] gives you http://bushfarms.com/bees.htm (http://bushfarms.com/bees.htm)

I wasn't trying to confuse you, just showing you the differences between two types of link posting.  Spaces are inserted in the first of both examples to make the syntax show up, no spaces are used in the actual links.
