Hello and welcome!

This forum is a great place to learn more about bees & beekeeping. Be sure to check out the tutorials on the main Beemaster page - that's where I began a half-dozen years ago.

Read everything you can. Check your local library for books & videos on beekeeping. Also, get involved in a local beekeeping club. Clubs often offer beginning beekeeping classes, and are a good way to find mentors and get connected with nearby beekeepers:

Welcome to the forum.
Human beings, who are almost unique in having the ability to learn from the experience of others, are also remarkable for their apparent disinclination to do so.

Welcome Steve. You are going about it in a good way. Learn everything you can, now before you have them. Your chances of keeping them in good health to survive the first year depends on it. Watch every video on You Tube that you can about beekeeping. You will see anything from the self proclaimed professionals to the back yard keeps but good to learn. Also read anything you can in the forum Learning Center. As you will learn. Ask questions. There are many wonderful people here with all different experience levels to help you.
