NONE, I have never had a problem with them, the most I have ever count at my place is 15 SHB's and thats all I counted in all 13 hives, not in a single hive, had 1 hive had 2 of them the others had 1 each. if I did have them I would use the method a lot of beekeepers use that works great, heres the link!!!

I don't have them. Yet :?

I'm in the mountains, so my beeyards are pretty isolated, and I'm hoping since I have stopped buying packages or nucs that I will stay SHB free.

I had them this year in one hive because I left a substitute patty on too long.  They weakened the hive enough that even after a few months of trying to save them  wax moths came in and I witnessed the bees absconding.  The other hives are strong and there is no problem with SHB.

ATTENTION EVERYBODY THAT DOESN'T WANT A EXPLOSION OF SHB's
, If you feed pollen Pattie's feed in small amounts because SHB's love the stuff and will lay eggs on it... I do not feed whole pattie's at a time,

Great tip. I have not heard that before. Makes sense.
1 hive I counted 34 of the devils. Others 3 or 4.
I am going to use the Combat method and see what happens.

I use the apple cider vinegar trap sold by Brushy Mountain and feel gleeful whenever I find it full of dead beetle bodies!

Here's the trap:

Here's the trap with dead bodies floating and sunk to the bottom of it:

And here are some of the dead    bodies lying in state on my deck:

Seems to be working!

I do not have SHB in my area as yet, nor Do I have AHB but forewarned is forearmed.  What I learn here about these two beekeeping problems will be invaluable information if the day ever comes that either infests my area.  thanks.
