Title: Making Splits
Post by: tedlemay on May 15, 2012, 12:57:46 pm
I am going to make 8 or 9 splits with new queens soon and was wondering if it is best to move the new hives to a new local or can you keep them in the same yard? I can move them about 100yards. Also what time of day is the best for making splits? Morn , noon, evening?

You can do it both ways.  How are you making your split?   Splitting double seep boxes or making 5 frame nucs?  I have moved them way apart in the past, but now they stay in the same yard.
