CLAMMING/SHELLFISHING

Well seeing how we moved close to a coast (3 hours) we decided we are going to run down to the port and pick clams and maybe throw crab pots in the water as well.  anyone else out there shell fishing???

Here is some pic's that shows how we did crabbing and we can have or limit of clam's in 15 minute's next time I'll take some pic's of them

Irwin thats great.  Do you cook them before you freeze them?  I am thinking about just sticking them in the freezer still alive individually and then putting them all in freezer bags after they are froze.

I cook them then clean them I don't like to freeze them they don't taste as good but if I do I vac seal the meat then freeze.

interesting.  Sure any food that is frozen doesnt taste as good as the fresh stuff just picked.  I was just thinking of freezing it so I dont have to make a trip to the coast every 2 weeks when I want a little seafood.

I was thinking of the vacupacking for the clams after they are shucked of course.

well hopefully 1 week from friday has temps above 30 degrees as that is the day we are planning to go clamming.  Maybe get some scallops at the same time.  Yum.

I will be sure to vaccupack them.  I am not sure the scallops will hit the freezer though.  Those might be eaten that night.
