So if you picked up the sheet and shook them through the hole and into the box it would be likely the queen would be in the box?  And then the rest would follow in in time.

Only the ones on the sheet will stick to the sheet. The rest will fall in when you shake it. The rest will follow in once the bees inside decide they like it.

When you add a trap, you want one that allows some of the pollen to get through. Then the bees get the pollen they need but they just have to work harder to get enough. If they do not get enough, the nurse bees will demand more and more from the field bees.

It all depends on if there is a swarm in the area and if they like the size and location of your hive compared to other available nest sites in the area.
