New here from South Central Ky.
« on: November 07, 2012, 10:50:38 pm »
Hi y'all, I've been keeping bees for 4 yrs down here. I currently have 2 hives of Russians, 1 of Purdue Survivor Stock, and 1 walkaway split I made this year. Made my own extractor this year and only have 1 batcfh of cappings to process and 1 bucket of honey left to bottle and I'll be ready to get started for next year. My goal is to learn how to raise my own queens and make several new hive. I look forward to learning a lot on here. Glad to make all your friendship. John

Welcome sir!  One place to study queen rearing is  mdasplitter.com  The methold works.  It would work better if my eyes were better but is far easier than grafting.  Between arthritic fingers and older eyes, I can't think about doing that.

Thanks for making me (and all new beeks) feel so welcome. I'm not yet sure what method of queen raising I'll use or my own combination but if God is willing and I get all my box's built this winter I'll at least be trying and learning. Thanks again, John
