Figwort -- scrophularia nodosa
« on: December 02, 2007, 12:23:24 pm »
Within my search for bee plants to propagate last year, Figwort was one.  In the Snapdragon family I believe.  This plant bloomed this summer, the flowers were highly insignificant, barely even a flower that I would really describe, the flowers appeared very tiny.  But....yes, the bees loved it, as did many other garden beneficials. The plant grew about 3 feet tall by about the same width, very nice.   I cut it back after the flowering had finished and it regrew all its foliage.  Last week I saw that it still had all its foliage, perhaps an evergreen plant.  Enjoy this beautiful day and life we live.  Cindi

There are strange things done in the midnight sun by the men who moil for gold.  The Arctic trails have their secret tales that would make your blood run cold.  The Northern Lights have seen queer sights, but the queerest they ever did see, what the night on the marge of Lake Lebarge, I cremated Sam McGee.  Robert Service
