Title: Italian vs. Carniolan for cut comb
Post by: charlotte on November 05, 2008, 02:33:04 pm
In your opinion / experience, which type of bee is better suited for production of cut comb honey?

I know they both produce nice white cappings, but I am suspecting Italians are better, due to less swarminess??

Thanks in advance for your response!! ;)

Generally the darker bees make whiter cappings due to a slight amount of air under the cappings.  The Italian cappings tend to be a bit more "watery" looking.  Both will make delicious honey.  :)
