honey flow
« on: September 19, 2005, 11:21:39 pm »
This is my first year with bees and with my only fully populated hive I now have two full supers. I got one super earlier cause I didn't have any honey in the house. My question is how long does the flow here in midland texas area last.  If someone could give me some kind of idea it would be helpful plus, the first frost is usually about nov 6this that when you winterize them?

Bill our cotton flow here in the upper panhandel is about over, there is still a lot of wild flowers blooming, I am not seeing a lot of honey coming in now but it is really hot and dry the last two weeks. I will pull all my supers the first week in october and extract will give them a drawn super if they need it and  let them keep any thing they collect after that
however I also use a food chamber all time that is full now
