Capped Honey
« on: August 10, 2004, 10:22:44 pm »
I went into my local hives yesterday,  I was happy to see about 100 lbs of capped honey in each hive's supers.

Hive 1 has Two full medium supers packed and capped, 45 lbs each
and has a shallow super that I was going to use for cut comb, but the queen has gone and laid eggs in it, so only about 4-5 frames will yield honey.    I have one more deep hive body that I added here to have the bees draw out the comb.

Hive 2 was about the same with less capping, but 1 medium and 2 shallows full.    I have added a medium super that needs to be drawn out here.

I'd like to extract now, but my friend with the big extractor (20 frame) is not ready to do his extraction until next month.

I already picked up my jars, I had enough for 120 lbs,  so I just ordered more.
