Have been checking my bees every month and started a 2 to 1 sugar syrup with fumigil last week. Am I doing something right?

2:1 is for Fall feeding when you want them to store it away for winter.
1:2 is used to stimulate the queen to start laying & 1:1 is used to encourage comb building.
