Is this normal behavior ???
« on: April 19, 2005, 02:57:19 pm »
Saturday I installed my first two packages ever. They were three pounds each. The first one went just fine. It was really kind of cool. The second one went South real fast. Them buggers started stinging me the second they came out of the package. Well I got my suit on ,and got them in with no more stings. The problem is now you can't get with in 30 yds. without them attacking you. Is this normal ?  Oh I also noticed that the bees that did not make it into the hives were fighting on the stand. I sealed up both hives for a day,and that stopped the fighting. But they still want a piece of me.

Sometimes they run out of feed and they are very grouchy.  I always feed on the screen wire until they won't take anymore before I try to install them.
