Here's part two. Both of our eyes swelled so bad we couldn't even see straight! :-D

Very cool, only had time to watch part one, part two tomorrow, so interesting how big the colony was, have that awesome and great day, of love, health and peace, with friends, Cindi

Another fine job. Nice looking eye job did you and Schawee go to the same optometrist. :-D
-
So much fun today. You guys are so funny together. Glad it was successful in the end and you had your shake as a reward.

You probably just got the shake girl fired with that video. We won't tell nobody....... But we might put it on the internet. And it was great to see how Schawee practices finding the queen by letting her go and finding her over and over. Practice makes for a better queen finder.
And can you imagine what the neighbors were thinking as these 2 grown men videotaping something with oranges and bees? :-D
-
I just now remembered this. While we were transferring the bees the little mad bombers showed up. I could hear them across the fence, one of them said "Hey, the hive is gone!"
They were very disappointed that pitching practice had been permanently cancelled. :-D

another great video jp. i was just imagining schawee standing under the branch without a veil and getting hit by the falling hive. kinda like when you dumped a board full of bees on him. it never ceases to amaze me how good you guys are a finding the queen. i've been in my hive dozens of times and still haven't found her. what's your secret ?
-
Nice ending to this removal.
Them sure are big shakes ya'll eating.
Thanks for sharing this with us.
-
Bulldog, I don't have any secrets for finding the queen and to be honest sometimes I don't or don't need to.
If there's any kind of tip I could give for finding queens it would be to look at the big picture.
Instead of looking just for her look at how the bees are acting, you know by now they will face her in most situations, look for circles or semi circles of bees and you just may find her right in the middle of them.
Also do a quick glance at a mass of bees, run your eyes all around, back and forth instead of trying to just see her.
A lot of times she'll pop out at you, kind of like trying to find Waldo.
Don't know if this helps at all, but I hope it does.

thanks for the advice, every little bit helps. of course i'll have to wait until spring to try it out.

Another great job. Perhaps you could have the girls a Burger Delite make some honey milkshakes just for you? :cheer: Just something to think about... 8-)
-
Honey milk shakes? That sounds pretty good! Will have to ask Schawee what he thinks about that. Any questions about shakes should really be directed towards him as he is the expert on shakes. ;)
Haven't heard from him in a few days, must be knee deep in shakes! :-D

Honey milk shakes? Now that is something different. Replace the sugar in the shake with honey, or make it into the main flavor? Cut out the vanilla? I might have to do some thinking on that, but it sounds good.
-
Heard from Schawee about an hour or so ago, called to tell me he was having a vanilla shake!
He just had to rub it in! :-D

Whats the distance between you guys? Is it an all day trip to visit or just a hop, skip and a jump? Sorry, just being nosy
-
If the shakes take off, I want a percentage, since it was my idea...LOL Several years ago I experimented with honey ice cream. It was good, but for some reason, I never made it after that. Thinkin' I might just have to dust off that ol' ice cream machine soon.

K9, Schawee is about a 45 minutes drive from me. Burger Delight is 12 miles further up from his house.
...JP
-
Man, I got a loong way to go for one of them shakes :-D
Google says 8 h 51 minutes or 539 miles
-
K9, if you make the drive, I suggest you get at least two shakes. One when you get there, then one for the road. ;)

man,a honey shake, that sounds like a great idea.i will talk to them this week and see what i can workout with them on that.i see another video coming out on this.glade i though about this  :-D. jp that shake today was by far the best i ever had.k9, that 539 mile drive will be worth the trip. ...schawee
-
Yeah, it was the best ever shake in the entire world, on the entire planet, until I'm there with you, then its "Oh it ain't thick enough" or "well, its good but the daughter made it!" ;)
...JP
-
glad she don't work there anymore.you know that shake she made me was too thin. ...schawee
-
See, now he's tellin me its too thin, the other day he was saying how good it was.
Actually, I like mine drinkable. Schawee likes his so thick your cheeks hurt when trying to suck them down (his words).
So, tellin' me "it was too thin" is rubbing it in, cause I know it was just right! :-D

I'm with you JP. I don't like trying to turn the straw inside-out on a shake and I also do not like to drink coffee at 211 degrees. I had an uncle that would take a coffee pot straight off the fire and pour him a cup and commence to down it. No way he had any taste buds left.
