Have a buddy who's considering getting into bees (mostly likes to troll Ebay) send me this link asking if it's a good deal. At first glance I though the material was odd, then I looked at the direction of the cone. It's got to be a beekeepers gag gift.

I've gotta admit, that's a hard one to figure out. It's either a joke or something is slightly askew about it...

Haha! That would be a funny joke.
But if you look really closely at the pictures, it kinda looks like the firebox and funnel lid are sitting down inside another sleave attached to the bellows. I bet somebody inexperienced put it together and didn't know what they were doing. Beautiful copper though! If I was floating in money . . . :)

I like the way the smoke goes back on the person using it and not on the bees. :buttkick: -Mike

Wasn't there a conversation on here a while back about using "hemp" to smoke the bees? Maybe this is the smoker for that.
This is not a smoker, it's a bong.

I'm thinking this is what it looked like before the modification...

The bigger joke may have been on who ever altered it...Found another just like it on ebay that sold for $112.00.....Not to shabby.

I had one where the funnel came off. The welds weren't done properly.
What i'm thinking may have happened was the seller probably found it with the funnel off, then tried to fix it to make some money. He/she just put it on and affixed it to the hinge the wrong way. Probably had no beek experience. I can't tell how they got it to stick to the hinge from the pics though.
